The proposal for a union to form, called the ASEAN Social Security Association of ASSA presented the Indonesian National Social Security Association sometime in September 1995 the preamble of the proposal, was a local institution that all social organizations ASEAN -Staaten offer creation. While the 25 International Social Security Association general meeting in Bali, Indonesia, held from November 13 to 19, 1995 Professor Awaloedin Djamin (Indonesian National Union of Social Security), Tan Sri Sallehuddin bin Muhammad (Provident Fund Employees, Malaysia), Mr Chamlong Sriprasart (Social Security Office, Thailand) and Renato C Valencia (social insurance, Philippines System) combined in principle to the establishment of the Association of Social Security for the ASEAN (ASSA) agreed. During the meeting, Professor Awaloedin Djamin expressed the need for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize the creation of ASSA.
Meeting in Manila, Philippines (July 23, 1996)
July 23, 1996 were collected between the leaders of the social security institutions in the region ASEAN at a special meeting in Manila, the Philippines, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which discuss the Indonesian National Union of Social Security.
